Don't get sick when hunting or eating wild hogs!

The Louisiana Office of Public Health recently confirmed a case of Brucella abortus in a Louisiana resident who most likely acquired the disease through contact with a feral hog. This is the second domestically transmitted case of Brucella abortus reported in Louisiana residents in the past 18 months. Both individuals are believed to have been infected through contact with feral hogs.
